Heartburn 🔥: What natural product can actually help...

A sharp, burning pain in the stomach area that rises from the abdomen to the throat or pharynx. You know what I'm talking about. Heartburn❗️


In Germany, about 35 percent of adults suffer from it regularly. ▶️ Find out how heartburn develops, what its symptoms are, and what you can do about it.


What causes heartburn?

Food moves from the esophagus to the stomach. When you swallow, a complex sphincter muscle opens, which then closes to protect the esophagus from the highly acidic gastric juice. If too much stomach acid is produced, or if the stomach empties too slowly, gastric juice can enter the esophagus and cause pain throughout the chest. This is because the esophagus has no protective lining. But it's not always a burning pain. Heartburn can also cause morning cough and hoarseness, regular throat clearing, and even difficulty swallowing and asthma attacks.


What are the possible causes?

In addition to aging, obesity, pregnancy, and medications, a poor diet is often one of the causes of heartburn. In particular, fatty, spicy, and acidic foods, as well as alcohol and carbonated drinks, can cause heartburn. Overeating can also be a trigger for heartburn.


What helps with heartburn?

Changing your diet often brings relief. The following tips may help:

  • Avoid large meals

  • Avoid fatty foods

  • Avoid too much sugar

  • Avoid spicy and highly seasoned foods

  • Avoid citrus juices and soda

  • Reduce chocolate, tomatoes, peppermint, and citrus fruits

Instead, eat smaller meals four to five times a day with plenty of protein, such as milk, nuts, or legumes. Weight loss, a change in sleeping position, and acid-binding or acid-inhibiting agents or mechanical blockers may also help relieve symptoms. However, side effects such as osteoporosis are problematic with long-term use, especially with proton pump inhibitors.


Can natural mineral water help with heartburn and acid reflux?

Natural mineral water can help with heartburn, especially if it contains a lot of hydrogen carbonate. This has been proven by scientifically recognized clinical studies. For example, Fachingen Heil- und Mineralbrunnen GmbH commissioned a study in which participants between the ages of 22 and 81 drank 1.5 liters of Staatl. Fachingen STILL or a placebo every day for six weeks. All participants had suffered from frequent heartburn for at least six months. The result: 84.7 percent of participants experienced significant symptom relief (click here for the study).


Another study of 50 participants between the ages of 18 and 64 found similar results, with a statistically significant reduction in heartburn by week six. The frequency of symptoms was reduced in 89.6% of patients and the duration of symptoms was reduced in 79.2% of patients (click here for the study).


CONCLUSION: It can be concluded that a mineral water rich in bicarbonate can help to reduce the frequency and severity of heartburn and thus improve the quality of life. This is because bicarbonate has an alkaline effect and our body neutralizes excess acids.


What is the minimum amount of bicarbonate a mineral water should contain?

According to the Mineral and Table Water Ordinance, a mineral water must contain at least 600 milligrams of bicarbonate per liter to be called bicarbonate-containing water. Whether 600 milligrams per liter is enough for heartburn is not yet known. Experts suggest about 1,300 mg of bicarbonate. In the case of Staatl. Fachingen, the healing water contains 1,846 mg/l.
