ONE SIP AT A TIME

Facts that you always wanted
to know about water

Ten unique waters sure to catch your guests' attention 🤩

The dream of every restaurant manager is to leave a positive impression on a guest, who will hopefully tell their friends about the experience and return. To achieve this, the overall impression must be perfect. For me, the right water is just as important as the right ambience, friendly and professional staff, and delicious food and drink. Ideally, I believe that water can make a decisive impression on guests.

What is important?

Guests want to have an experience when visiting a restaurant. Water is the first product that is served on the table. It may take several minutes before the guests receive their meals. During this time, the water plays an important role in creating the first impression. In addition to the taste of the water (yes, water has taste. Learn more about it), the look and feel contribute to a unique dining experience. It makes a difference whether I put a carafe of tap water on the guest's table or a mineral water in a high-quality glass bottle. Especially if it is a restaurant of the upper class or an exclusive bar in the hotel.

Here are ten unique waters that stand out for their bottle design:

The perfection

If you really want to impress your guests, you need to offer several waters. Using a water menu (read more about it), guests can select a water matching their food or wine. Ideally there should be 6-8 waters, including a brief description of its origin, food and drink pairing suggestions and its speciality. Staff should be able to tell the story of the water to complete the overall experience. A water sommelier can help with the selection of appropriate waters and staff training.

About Timo Bausch

My fascination with mineral waters began in 2016 during my training as a Water Sommelier. Since then, I have been exploring the characteristics and diversity of water. In addition to pairing water with food, wine, coffee and other beverages, I offer the creation of water menus for restaurants and hotels. Furthermore, it is also important to me to draw attention to the importance of drinking water.
