Germany is not the only country with a large number of natural mineral and healing waters. Our Austrian neighbors can keep up with many special waters. I have listed seven of my personal highlights below.
Thalheimer: Thalheimer belongs to Red Bull and is a healing water. With 312 mg calcium, 71.6 mg magnesium and 187 mg sodium, I consider it a water suitable for sports. Total mineralization: 2,140 mg.
Long Life: Only one water can offer more magnesium than Thalheimer. And that is Long Life. It has 193 mg of magnesium per liter. It also contains 265.5 mg of calcium. The website states that many users notice an increase in performance after just 20 minutes of drinking 0.5 liters of Long Life. Total mineralization: 2,695 mg.
Alpquell: Alpquell also has an extra 250 mg of calcium. What I like about Alpquell is that it comes in sparkling, mild and still varieties. It also has a unique, slightly sweet taste and a smooth mouthfeel. Total mineralization: 1,177 mg
Vöslauer: Vöslauer is probably Austria's most famous mineral water brand. It is therefore a must among the 7 mineral and healing waters from Austria. A mineral water for those who don't like strong taste. Total mineralization: 711 mg
Peterquelle: The mineral water for those who like it a little saltier. With a high sodium content of 508 mg per liter, it tastes slightly salty and is perfect with fish dishes. Total mineralization: 1,625 mg
Sicheldorfer: The healing water for heartburn. With 3,456 mg of hydrogen carbonate, this healing water promises a 100% immediate effect against heartburn. The water can also be used for other conditions such as iodine deficiency, gastritis and urinary stones. Total mineralization: 5,513 mg
Gasteiner: With a total mineralization of 206 mg per liter, it is a low mineralized water compared to the other waters. Nevertheless, the glass bottles look good in any restaurant.

About Timo Bausch
My fascination with mineral waters began in 2016 during my training as a Water Sommelier. Since then, I have been exploring the characteristics and diversity of water. In addition to pairing water with food, wine, coffee and other beverages, I offer the creation of water menus for restaurants and hotels. Furthermore, it is also important to me to draw attention to the importance of drinking water.
