The most expensive water in the world - 2026 Update 🤑

Two years ago, I published a post about the world's most expensive waters. A lot has changed since then. New luxury brands have emerged, limited editions have been released and some bottles are now selling for prices that would surprise even the most seasoned collectors.
So it’s time for an update!
Anyone who lives in Dubai knows that there is a wide selection of water available. You can find just about anything, from affordable "bottled drinking water" (often made from desalinated seawater) to high-quality natural mineral waters from around the world. While basic drinking water is available for just a few dirhams, prices for international natural mineral waters start significantly higher. However, it can also be much more expensive. Read on to find out just how high water prices can be.
First things first: Some natural mineral waters are among the world’s most exclusive beverages thanks to their exceptional origin, unique mineral content or extremely limited availability. Others owe their high price to elaborately designed bottles made of crystal, gold or gemstones, or to marketing. Added to this are strictly limited special editions that are treated more as collector's items than beverages.
The world’s most expensive waters don’t just cost a few hundred euros; some individual bottles reach prices in the five-digit US dollar range (including collectors' items).
Here are the ten most expensive bottles of water I've found for sale in online stores right now:

Price: $294
NEVAS is a blended water, created by combining two natural spring waters to achieve the perfect balance of minerals and taste. This is the Club Edition.

Price: $342
In 2010, Evian collaborated with Paul Smith on the design of a limited-edition glass bottle. Decorated with the designer’s signature colourful stripes, the bottle was printed using eco-friendly ink. Five different collectable cap designs complemented the bottle. This collaboration formed part of Evian’s annual Designer Bottle Series, combining luxury fashion with high-quality natural mineral water to transform an everyday bottle into a collector’s item.

Price: $391
In 2009, Evian collaborated with the renowned French fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier to create two limited-edition bottles: the 'PrĂŞt-Ă -Porter' bottle with its elegant, snowflake-inspired design, and the ultra-exclusive 'Haute Couture' bottle, of which only seven were produced worldwide. This collaboration was unveiled during Paris Fashion Week, establishing Evian's position as a luxury brand by combining its high-quality natural mineral water with haute couture design.

Price: $979
NEVAS is a blended water, created by combining two natural spring waters to achieve the perfect balance of minerals and taste. This water is the Apollo Edition, produced in very limited quantities.

Price: $9,794
Svalbarði is an extraordinary water, sourced from millennia-old ice from the surrounding icebergs of the Arctic archipelago of Svalbard. The strictly limited production run, the labour-intensive extraction process and the fact that it originates from one of the most pristine regions on Earth make every bottle an exclusive luxury product, especially since production stopped.

Price: $60,000
Acqua di Cristallo became internationally recognized in 2010 when one of its creations was auctioned for US$60,000, making it the most expensive bottle of water ever sold. Inspired by the work of Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani and crafted in 24-carat gold, the bottle was auctioned to support an environmental foundation, linking luxury with environmental awareness.

In addition to the list above, Acqua di Cristallo introduced the Acqua di Cristallo – Tributo Modigliani fifteen years later to the Amedeo Modigliani bottle. More than just a commemorative edition, the Tributo Modigliani marks the beginning of the Doctrine of Water: A philosophy that recognises fresh water as humanity's most precious natural heritage. Instead of celebrating extravagant luxury, the Tributo Modigliani uses art, design and rarity to encourage a broader conversation about the value of water and our responsibility to preserve it. The aim is to transform the perception of water, elevating it from an everyday commodity to a symbol of culture, heritage, stewardship and legacy. Combining iconic design, artistic inspiration, craftsmanship and intellectual property, the Tributo Modigliani is a collectible work of art and a cultural statement advocating greater respect for one of the planet's most essential resources. This unique piece is valued at approximately US$5 million.
Conclusion
The world’s most expensive waters demonstrate that water can be so much more than an everyday necessity. While some are justified by an extraordinary origin, a rare spring or a unique mineral composition, many of these luxury waters are synonymous primarily with design, craftsmanship and exclusivity. For most people, they are less a beverage for everyday enjoyment and more limited-edition works of art and highly sought-after collector's items.
The history, origin and emotions conveyed by these bottles are just as important as the contents. They show that water, our planet's most valuable resource, can also have great cultural, aesthetic, and symbolic significance.
With that said: Respect water, #stayhydrated
